International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an internationally recognized test taken mainly for academic purposes by students wishing to enroll in a foreign university or by those wishing to move to the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries.
Precisely for this reason IELTS provides two different types of exams corresponding to the different needs and requirements of the candidates:
• IELTS Academic, aimed at those who need to certify English for enrollment in international universities;
• IELTS General Training, for needs related to immigration or integration into the world of work.
The IELTS exam provides a precise assessment of the competence of the English language using a simple scale consisting of nine levels, from the minimum language ability (level 1) to the maximum (level 9) and is valid for two years. An IELTS result of 6.5 is sufficient to be admitted to UK universities, while a minimum of 7.0 is required in many US universities.

Courses start in the fall and spring and you can choose to attend on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday. Class hours are from 15:00 to 16:30 CET (Central European Time) or from 17:00 to 18:30 CET on the days you have chosen for a total of three hours per week.
